Psychological Assessment

About the Diagnostic Clinic
The goals of the Diagnostic Clinic are to diagnose psychological disorders to determine the etiology of symptoms and offer recommendations or referrals for the client’s treatment. Frequent referral questions include:

  • Psychological evaluations
  • Gifted assessment
  • Academic accommodations for home, classroom, and college admissions tests
  • Assessment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder
  • Assessment of autism spectrum disorder

What is testing like?

  • You will be asked to provide previous psychological evaluations, report cards, IEPs, medical records and any other relevant information prior to the first appointment.
  • An interview to gather background information is followed by administration of tests.
  • All testing is usually not completed in one day. Expect to return to the center for further testing.
  • Expect the report and feedback session to be scheduled approximately two weeks after the last testing session (about four to five weeks from the intake appointment).

Recommendations

  • Physicians in medication management
  • Colleges develop accommodations under Section 504
  • The individual to develop their plans for treatment
  • Elementary and High Schools develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Students who take the PSAT, SAT, GED, ACT, and GRE and require accomodations

Affordable Fees
Comprehensive evaluations are charged a $500 fee ($675 if ASD must be ruled out). The fee includes the intake, test administration and interpretation, comprehensive report and a feedback session when the assessment findings are reviewed.
